What’s on

Walks, seasonal gatherings, artist-led events and opportunities at a working farm in Coverdale.

Our programme follows the seasons and fits around the work of the farm. You might join us for a guided farm walk, a rural photography workshop, an orchard day, an artist gathering or a shared meal in the barn.

Moorhen Farm is open for advertised events and pre-booked visits only. Each listing includes practical information about cost, duration, terrain, weather, facilities and access

Farm, art and place walks

Seasonal guided walks combining farming, local history, wildlife, close observation and Joanne Coates’s artistic methods. Public tickets and private group dates are available.

Seasonal events

Harvest, Halloween, Yule and orchard events rooted in the working year of the farm. Expect simple, small, thoughtful activities rather than a staged visitor attraction.

Workshops

Small-group workshops in photography, storytelling, mapping and ways of paying attention to rural places. No specialist equipment is required unless an event listing says otherwise.

Artist gatherings and opportunities

Socials, supported rural-creative days and for those interested in land, labour, ecology and rural life.

Private and group bookings

Many activities can also be arranged for schools, universities, community groups, art groups, farming networks and organisations. Visit the Learning & Groups page for formats, starting prices and access information.
